// InkMarkPad is an offline markdown notepad with live preview, tags, pins, templates and writing insights.
[01] Information collected // inputs
None. There is no account, no sign-up and no registration. The display name shown on the profile screen is a label you choose for yourself; it is stored on the device and is never sent anywhere, so you may type anything you like there.
[02] Local storage // on-device
Kept in OS-level local storage on your device, never uploaded:
- Notes — the markdown text of each note, plus its tags, accent colour, pinned state and created/updated timestamps. Stored in a local Hive database.
- Writing activity — a per-day tally of words written and which notes were touched, used to draw the weekly ribbon and the insights charts. Stored in the same local database.
- Preferences — editor text size, monospace on/off, list continuation, word-counter visibility, preview-first and the default library ordering. Stored with shared_preferences.
- Profile — the display name, the chosen avatar mark and the date you first opened the app. Also stored with shared_preferences.
Uninstalling the app deletes every byte.
[03] Permissions // runtime
InkMarkPad requests no runtime permissions. The Android manifest declares no uses-permission entries at all — not even INTERNET — and the iOS Info.plist contains no usage-description keys, because the app has no camera, microphone, photo, contacts, location or notification functionality to justify one. The only system integration is the platform share sheet (via the share_plus package), invoked only at the moment you tap Share yourself; once a note is handed to another app, that app's own privacy policy governs it.
[04] Network // egress
InkMarkPad is fully offline. It contains no HTTP client, no socket code, no WebView and no third-party SDK that performs background requests. The app behaves identically in airplane mode as it does with a full signal.
[05] Third parties // vendors
None are integrated. The complete runtime dependency list is: provider (state management), hive_ce and hive_ce_flutter (local database), shared_preferences (local key–value storage), fl_chart (drawing the charts), intl (date formatting), share_plus (the system share sheet) and cupertino_icons. None of these contact a server, and none collect telemetry.
[06] Children // coppa/gdpr-k
InkMarkPad is a plain writing tool that collects nothing from any user and contacts no server, so it collects nothing from children either. It is safe under COPPA and GDPR-K by construction rather than by policy: there is no data to mishandle.
[07] Your rights // you
Because all data is local, you have direct control over it: deleting a note from the library removes it from the database immediately, and uninstalling the app removes every note, statistic and preference in a single step. There is no server-side copy, no backup we hold, and therefore no data-access or data-deletion request to file with us. To keep a copy of a note beyond the app, open it and use Share to send the markdown somewhere you control.
[08] Changes // changelog
If this policy changes, the updated field at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes are also noted in the app's release notes.
